PanicLens is an independent iPhone log reader and device-check notebook from MiniSpark Apps. This policy describes the app's handling of selected logs, images, local cases, reports and backups. Contact doanduchieu@gmail.com with privacy questions.
1. On-device processing
PanicLens processes log files, pasted text and images you choose on your device. Text recognition and analysis run locally. The app has no account system, analytics SDK, advertising tracking or automatic upload of your logs or images to MiniSpark Apps. The app does not automatically read the system Analytics Data folder.
2. Files, photos and camera
You choose individual files or images through the system picker, paste text yourself, or grant camera permission when using Camera Scan. You may decline camera access and use another import method. Camera/OCR source images are transient and are not saved to Photos by PanicLens. Files or photos stored only in the cloud may first be downloaded by the provider you use; that provider's processing is governed by its own policies and your settings.
You can separately choose up to five repair photos per case. These are re-encoded as smaller JPEG images without source EXIF/GPS metadata. The image content itself may still reveal personal information, so choose photos carefully.
3. Local records and preferences
Saved cases can contain source-device model identifiers, extracted report fields, saved findings, symptoms, notes, actions, checklists, manual check sessions and chosen repair photos. Raw log text is retained only when you explicitly choose to retain it. Original evidence excerpts are not retained by default.
The app also stores preferences, library favorites, recent reading/search history and the current check draft locally. Cases and the check draft use iOS data protection and are excluded from automatic device/iCloud backup. Preferences and library state use local system preferences and may be included in platform backups according to your settings. Uninstalling the app or losing the device may lose your cases. Protect access to your device and make a manual backup if you want to preserve them.
4. Reports you choose to share
The app creates a local PDF or JSON summary for your preview. Reports omit raw logs, arbitrary evidence excerpts, repair photos, source filenames, fingerprints and internal IDs. Notes, actions and check notes are excluded by default. If you explicitly include them, free-text redaction is best effort and may leave personal details. Review the entire report before sharing.
When you choose a recipient, app or service in the system share sheet, that destination receives the exported file under its own privacy practices. MiniSpark Apps does not automatically receive your exports. A report JSON file is not a restorable backup.
5. Manual backup and restore
Backup & restore creates a separate versioned JSON file, up to 50 MB, containing cases, any retained raw logs, repair photos, library state and the current check draft. Language, appearance and export preferences are excluded. A full backup can contain private material omitted from reports.
The backup file is not encrypted. Its checksum detects accidental damage; it is not a digital signature or proof of authenticity. Store backups securely and share them only with people or services you trust. You can preview counts and conflicts before import, keep existing cases and copy duplicates under new IDs.
6. Retention and deletion
You can delete individual cases, remove retained raw logs, or delete all local data in Settings. Temporary report and backup exports are cleared on app launch, on dismissal/share completion and when deleting all local data.
Deleting local data does not recall files already exported, shared or saved elsewhere. Manage those copies separately with their recipient or storage provider. Deletion is not a guarantee of forensic erasure from physical storage.
7. Platform and external services
Optional external legal/license links open only when you choose them; PanicLens does not fetch link previews or reference updates in the background. Your browser, destination website and chosen sharing/file/photo providers handle those interactions under their own policies. Apple controls App Store transactions, system diagnostics and other iOS platform behavior according to your device settings.
8. Changes and contact
Changes to the app's data handling will be reflected here with an updated effective date. For privacy questions or support, contact MiniSpark Apps at doanduchieu@gmail.com. Please avoid sending raw logs or personal identifiers in your initial message.
