Yes. Scan accessible contacts and review a group. Use Quick Merge · Preview to select the group and open a proposed result directly, or Review & Merge to choose at least two cards manually with nothing preselected. Quick Merge proposes primary details from the scanned name, phone, email and organization fields; it does not prove that the cards belong to one person. In the preview, change selected contacts to exclude another person, change primary details or change the destination account. Inspect the proposed fields before confirming. Preparing or cancelling a preview does not change contacts or create a backup. Verified contacts can be merged across accounts. Select the destination account/address book and review where the result will be saved and which source cards will be deleted. One selected source already in that destination is updated, preferring a primary source; otherwise a new contact is created there and all selected sources are deleted. Other primary sources are also deleted. Only groups in the destination address book can be retained. Unverified sources, unavailable accounts or provider restrictions can prevent completion; scan again before retrying if a save fails. Shared phone numbers or emails are potential matches, not proof of identity. Confirmed changes may sync through your Contacts provider.

No. The app cannot read or back up the restricted Notes field on deleted cards. Save important Notes separately in Contacts before merging. Only Notes on the actual retained destination source are untouched; other primary sources may be deleted when consolidating accounts. This limit is disclosed before confirmation.

A protected local vCard of readable fields from every selected source card, including linked cards, is required before a merge writes changes. Export or delete it in Merge Backups. Recovery is manual import in Contacts and may create duplicates; it does not automatically restore account locations, groups or undo a merge. Copies are excluded from OS backup, survive failed merge attempts, and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app.

No. Duplicate Files reads only the folder chosen through Files. A provider may download content for comparison or preview. It does not modify or delete files.
